Capitol Ministries exists to help fulfill the Great Com- mission by bringing the Word of God to a nation's leaders from the start of their careers in local government to the highest levels they reach. Across our country and around the world Capitol Minis- tries® recruits, trains, and develops ministry leaders, godly Bi- ble teachers, who are skilled in evangelism and discipleship. We partner them with elected or appointed public servants who sponsor their ministries, provide a meeting place inside the capitol, and invite their colleagues to attend weekly Bible studies. ese ministry leaders lead weekly in-depth exegetical Bi- ble studies that are specific to the personal as well as political decision-making needs of these public servants. ey disci- ple Christian public servants, minister to them one-on-one, and evangelize those who do not know Him and lead them toward maturity in Christ. Our ambitious goal is to deliver the gospel to every pub- lic servant in every capitol every year. We call this our Big Hairy Audacious Goal—our BHAG—and it is one we em- brace with enthusiasm. To illustrate our BHAG, we use the all-American icon, the baseball diamond, to chart our course. Home plate represents local government—city and county commissioners, mayors, school board members, among others in the hometowns of America where many public servants begin their political careers. First base signifies state government elected or appointed legislators, judges, and constitutional officers. Second base is Washington, D.C. a final destination for many public servants as U.S. White House Cabinet members, sen- ators, representatives, and Supreme Court justices. ird Base represents international public servants in foreign fed- eral capitols such as parliamentarians, deputies, judges, legis- lators, cabinet members, and presidents. Our mission is to reach public servants at every stop along their careers and immerse them in the Word of God all along the way as they ascend to higher office. For 23 years Capitol Ministries® has endeavored to see our BHAGs realized. So far, we have: HOME PLATE: Planted the first successful Local Government Ministries (LGM) in the United States and have trained more than 40 ministry leaders in foreign nations who are working to launch LGMs in Europe. FIRST BASE: Planted discipleship ministries in 43 state capi- tols to benefit state representatives, senators, judges, and con- stitutional officers. SECOND BASE: Established thriving ministries and separate Bible studies to members of the White House Cabinet, U.S. Senate, and House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. THIRD BASE: Birthed discipleship ministries in more than 24 foreign federal capitols. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the po- litical arena throughout the world at every stratum of gov- ernment. "Ralph and Danielle lead our Bible study.
