She's a playful, curious and very cheeky young thing, too. YUSKA The oldest (and probably wisest) of the gorillas is Yuska (49 years), who is the grandmother figure for Kanzi. Yuska was the first of the gorillas to have a baby at Melbourne Zoo in 1984. KIMYA Mother to baby Kanzi, Kimya is 15 years old and is a calm presence in the gorilla family. She likes to keep a close eye on her adventurous daughter. OTANA Look out for the silverback leader, Otana, who is 19 years old. Otana weighs almost 200kg and takes his job of looking out for his family – including his daughter, Kanzi – very seriously.
