HATCHES & matches While we were sad to say goodbye to our 23-year-old Southern White Rhinoceros, Kapamba, who moved to Halls Gap, we welcomed 10-year-old Southern White Rhino, Kifaru – who has joined the females on the Lower Savannah. – WORZ KIFARU KEITH THE BLACKBUCK Keith the blackbuck arrived from Monarto Zoo. Keith is the new breeding male and has been welcomed by the large herd of female blackbuck in Woodlands Waterhole. There have been three blackbuck calves born this quarter and we are expecting many blackbuck calves early this year. – WORZ We said goodbye to Twiga, Melbourne Zoo's beloved Rothschild's Giraffe at 24 years of age. We also welcomed Klintun, a one-year-old giraffe from Altina Wildlife Park. – MZ For the first time Melbourne Zoo successfully bred the endangered Grassland Earless Dragon. This tiny dragon hasn't been seen in Victoria for 50 years and is only hanging on in a few small populations in the ACT and New South Wales. – MZ Our White-cheeked gibbon Tieu lived at Melbourne Zoo for 40 years and with his partner Vang had 10 offspring. – MZ Our much-loved Tieu has passed away WE WELCOMED ODIE THE ASIAN SMALL- CLAWED OTTER from Singapore Zoo. – MZ MISKA THE SNOW LEOPARD Our Snow Leopard Miska recently gave birth to three cubs.
