Micron Group, manufacturer of low volume precision sprayers for agricultural, horticultural and amenity applications have recently had their range of shielded equipment re-assessed for LEP (Local Environmental Risk Assessment for Pesticides) Low Dri status by the UK's Chemicals Regulation Directorate. 4 star LEP accreditation Micron Varidome, Spraydome, Undavina and Spraymiser Boom sprayers (both CDA and HiFlo models) have all achieved a 4 star LEP accreditation – the highest rating currently available in the UK – which recognises the sprayers as a DRT (Dri Reducing Technology) with proven dri potential reduction of over 90%. Reduce spray dri by over 95% According to Micron, the wind tunnel testing carried out in conjunction with Silsoe Spray Applications Unit to support the LEP application had shown that the shields actually have the potential to reduce spray dri by over 95%, with no dri at all recorded using the Varidome shield and CDA nozzles. No dri at all was recorded using the Varidome shield and CDA nozzles. - Photo: Micron Group • Micron Sprayers to Reduce Drift Potential by Over 90% e self contained design of the Bourgault FMS is comprised of the signature Bourgault heavy-duty steel air seeder tank and an independent seeding drill [either coulter (CD) or hoe drill HD]. • CD & HD Frame Mounted Seeders BOURGAULT Precision, Strength & Productivity - All Perfectly Contained in One Package e AIR SEEDER e air seeder is designed with the same proven Bourgault ingenuity found on Bourgault's large air seeder tanks. Design features such as the PDM ProTM Metering Auger that delivers accurate product metering of an extensive range of seeds and fertilizers and the KNEX inter-tank system (found on the 6000 and 7000 series tanks) that allows the flexibility to combine or separate tanks for increased seeding productivity. Large, hi-flotation tires located on the back of the drill support the contents of the 136 bu (4800 L) or 200 bu (7200 L) air seeder. e DRILL (CD or HD) e independent drill is available in either a 2-row, coulter drill system (CD) that deploys a Parallel Walking Coulter Arm Assembly or a 3-row, hoe drill system (HD) that deploys the PHD™ Seed Opener Assembly. Both the coulter and hoe drills operate independently of a sturdy 5" (127 mm) x 5" (127 mm) fixed frame. e front of the drill is designed with a solid draw hitch which transfers the load to the tractor. e 20' (6 m) FMS unfolds into a rigid continuous bar. e 26' (8 m) can be equipped with optional running gear on the wing to operate as a 3-plex bar for improved land following capability.
