NARI Announces National CotY
(Contractor of the Year) Award Winners During Virtual
T
he CotY Awards are the highest form of recognition by industry
leaders and peers. National CotY Award Winners competed in
48 categories ranging from residential and commercial, to
residential landscaping.
A panel of industry experts anonymously selected winners based on
their projects' functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation and
degree of difficulty. "All of the nominees' designs were exceptional and
brought creativity and design best practices to a new level," said NARI
CEO, David R. Pekel, MCR, UDCP, CAPS. "I'm sure it was difficult for
NARI's judging panel to choose the best of the best."
Two NARI member remodeling companies received multiple
awards. Mom's Design Build of Shakopee, Minnesota won three
2020 National CotY Awards: Commercial Specialty, Residential
Landscape Design/Outdoor Living $100,000 to $250,000, and
Residential Landscape Design/Outdoor Living over $250,000.
"We've been sharpened by time, trials, and triumphs," said Jim
Sweeney, Founder of Mom's Design Build. "It gives us great joy to
extend that commitment to the people and projects we serve, so the
affirmation from these awards is deeply heartfelt by our whole team
and sharpens us all the more."
The Cleary Company of Columbus, Ohio won two national awards:
Residential Historical Renovation/Restoration Under $250,000 and
Commercial Interior. "In the last two years, we have had the honor of
winning three NARI National Contractor of the Year Awards," said
Aaron Enfinger, CR, General Manager of The Cleary Company.
"Winning these awards has validated the hard work of our entire team."
NARI members from across the United States were able to submit
projects for consideration in the annual award program. NARI received
more than 500 entries of remodeling projects valued at more than
$138 million before selecting 196 Regional Winners and 31 Regional
Team Winners in February. The National Winners were chosen from
Regional CotY Winners.
