RETAILOBSERVER.COM JUNE 2020 22 THOR Kitchen has redesigned its Pro-Style Modular Outdoor Kitchen Suite to feature a sleek, masculine design aesthetic with new design enhancements, including recessed handles and larger surface areas. The refresh offers a more industrial, streamlined appearance, while the modular nature of the suite allows homeowners the flexibility to arrange the pieces in any configuration. The six-piece suite also offers the option to incorporate THOR's 24-inch Indoor/Outdoor Undercounter Refrigerator Drawer or Dual Zone Wine Cooler. "Now more than ever, men are spending more time in the kitchen – especially outdoors on appliances that take meals to the next level, like a wood-fired pizza oven or pro-style grill. We wanted our modular outdoor kitchen suite to reflect that masculine aesthetic they're looking for to match their style," said Kyle You, THOR Kitchen Managing Director. The Pro-Style Modular Outdoor Kitchen Suite includes: 30-inch 4-Burner Built-in Propane Gas Island Grill with Infrared Rotisserie Burner, Bar Center, Refrigerator Cabinet Module, Grilling Prep Station, Corner Cabinet Module and Wood Burning Pizza Oven Module. All products are Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL) rated for outdoor use and feature 304 stainless steel to resist rust, ensure longevity and be easy to clean. The suite's renewed design aesthetic features recessed handles on all cabinets to ensure a streamlined and cohesive appearance, regardless of the suite's configuration. Several pieces, including the Corner Cabinet and Refrigerator Cabinet, feature larger surface areas for preparing food, and the extra- large storage drawers are ideal for storing grilling equipment, bottle openers and other accessories. The 30-inch Built-in Propane Gas Island Grill features a rotisserie, two halogen lights inside for optimal lighting at night and five burners totaling over 59,000 BTU. LED lighting illuminates the knobs when turned on and an easy-to-install Natural Gas Conversion Kit is available to convert the grill from liquid propane to natural gas. The classic wood-burning Pizza Oven features a 3.44 square foot cooking area and accessories rack, allowing home chefs to hang their pizza cutter and oven brush for easy access when cooking. The Refrigerator Cabinet features casters with brakes and is redesigned to accommodate THOR's 24-inch Indoor/Outdoor Undercounter Refrigerator Drawer or Dual Zone Wine Cooler. The cabinet provides the added appliances with a flush, built-in look for a fully cohesive and unified design. SPEED QUEEN LAUNCHES LIVESTREAM OF TOP LOAD DURABILITY Hockey pucks being washed 24/7 in display of TR7 commercial quality Speed Queen, a brand already known for its legendary durability, is taking the legend to the next level and (now that sports have disappeared from our screens) creating entertainment via livestream by continuously washing a 20-pound load of hockey pucks. The livestream gives us a glimpse inside the company's test lab, showing the creative ways Speed Queen pushes its commercial quality consumer products to their limits. With no sports or hockey finals to view, Speed Queen has created the next-best spectator sport. Few other manufacturers would feel confident enough to dare do the test and livestream it. Speed Queen's current test has a TR7 top load washer running 43 Faswin and Rubena hockey pucks through a continuous rotation of the machine cycles. The hockey puck livestream will continue for a minimum of 30 days before being replaced by a new 24/7 challenge that puts the brand's commercial quality built with American pride on live display. "Our reliability lab team is always coming up with creative ways to test our machines," said Cody Masluk, vice president and general manager of Speed Queen Consumer distribution. "This heavy load is a good benchmark of our commercial quality and ultimate reliability. Hockey pucks seemed a great fit right now, what with us all sheltering at home with no sports to watch," he added. I N D U S T R Y [ N E W S ]
