RETAILOBSERVER.COM JUNE 2020 26 "The sense of community is a key element of our markets and marketplaces," said Dorothy Belshaw, IMC chief marketing and digital officer. "While currently we cannot gather in person, IMC is helping to fill that void by presenting relevant content and creating a community that will keep our exhibitors and attendees connected during this difficult time." With unique information tailored to each market experience, the market portals are comprehensive resources for retailers, designers and exhibitors to stay informed. Webinars produced by IMC and other industry thought leaders provide business- building educational opportunities. Trend information and product previews showcase fresh and new merchandise; industry news digests showcase need-to-read stories; and market information, videos and previews help attendees make plans for upcoming markets. The new resource pages complement product and vendor discovery currently available through IMC's market websites – www.IMCHighPointMarket.com, www.AmericasMart.com, and www.LasVegasMarket.com. As recently announced, IMC and its new digital innovation division, IMC_di, are also offering free subscriptions and transactions to IMC customers through year- end on ShopZio, its B2B digital platform with 35,000 verified buyers currently transacting on the platform representing millions of dollars in transactions every month. The e-commerce marketplace will be linkable directly from IMC's market websites which already attract more than 3 million unique users a year enabling both robust product discovery and transactional e-commerce. "Our hope is that by continuing to provide enrichment and connection opportunities, we can help our buyers and suppliers prepare to successfully emerge from this crisis," adds Belshaw. "While we are proud to offer these resources online for our customers, we cannot wait to gather again in person at our upcoming markets." NATIONWIDE'S BACK TO BUSINESS HUB SUPPLIES IN-DEPTH RESOURCES FOR INDEPENDENT RETAILERS Public resource center aims to give dealers the tools they need to successfully reopen their businesses in the post-Covid era Nationwide Marketing Group has released a treasure trove of resources for the independent retail channel as dealers across the country look for guidance on reopening their showrooms. The Back to Business Hub, located on Nationwide's public website, is aimed at making the path to reopening an easy one for retailers to navigate. "No two retailers are going to have exactly the same path back to business, and we know that what works for one may not necessarily work for the next," says Nationwide President and Chief Member Advocate Tom Hickman. "But what we can do is arm all independent retailers with the tools they need to make the best decisions for their business as they look to reopen in the coming days and weeks." The Hub organizes all of these resources into essential business functions, making it easy for retailers to find the information they need. Business topics covered include Business Services, Financial Services, Digital, Merchandising, Marketing, Human Capital, Health Policy and more. Within each area users will find best practices, checklists, policy recommendations and template forms. And just as the situation with COVID-19 has been fluid and ever-changing, the Hub will act in a similar fashion. As new information and resources become available, Nationwide will work quickly to add them to the Back to Business Hub. Nationwide's internal business area experts have worked to gather these resources over the past several weeks as attention has shifted from managing business through the crisis to preparing to come out the other side. Where applicable, Nationwide has leaned on employment attorneys to help develop and vet this information. I N D U S T R Y [ N E W S ]
