Eliminate these problems by preventing material from impacting the elbow wall Free, No-Risk Trial Offer See for yourself how Smart Elbow ® deflection elbows eliminate problems inherent with conventional sweep elbows, ceramic-backed elbows, and plugged-tee elbows once and for all—at no cost or obligation. Contact HammerTek at 1-610-814-2273 www.hammertek.com or sales@HammerTek.com 45° and 90° elbows available in cast iron, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and specialized alloys with flanges and socket-weld ends in tube, schedule 10 pipe and schedule 80 pipe sizes in diameters up to 18 inch. WHICH ELBOW PROBLEM MUST YOU SOLVE? II-0613 When sand, glass, reinforced pellets and other abrasives impact the radius of conven- tional elbows at high speed, they wear through the outside wall, incurring downtime and replacement costs. When pelletized resins and compounds skid against the outside radius of conventional elbows, they create frictional heat that melts pellet surfaces, forming streamers, angel hair and snakeskins. When friable materials impact the outside radius of conventional elbows at high speed, they break down, degrading product quality and reducing salability, while creating fines, dust and waste. When sugar, rubber pellets, hot melt adhesives and other heat-sensitive materials skid against the radius of conventional elbows, they heat the outside wall, causing build-up and pressure drop. Wear and failure when conveying abrasives? Plastic streamers, angel hair and snake skins? Breakage and dusting of fragile materials? Plugging and build-up? Unlike conventional "impact" elbows and "plugged tee" elbows that rely on material impact to change direction, HammerTek's Smart Elbow ® design employs a spherical chamber that protrudes partially beyond the desired 90º or 45º pathway, causing a ball of material suspended in air to rotate. Since the ball of material rotates in the same direction as the airstream that powers it, incoming material is cushioned by the ball's rotation, and is gently deflected around the bend. In addition to preventing material degradation and plugging, you eliminate elbow blow-outs, clean-up, difficult repairs in elevated locations, and costly downtime.
