The BICSI Japan District is excited to announce two new board members and the promotion of an existing member. Welcome to Makiko Matsushita, new board member appointed in May 2020. Through her former volunteer efforts and continued assistance to BICSI Japan, Makiko has demon- strated her enthusiasm to support and further develop the association. Her role on the BICSI Japan board will be to support membership services and to project manage the translation of the TDMM, 14th edition, into Japanese. Makiko is a telecom specialist at Fujikura Co., Ltd. Congratulations also to new board member, Keisuke Yamaguchi from Hirano Tsushin Kizai Inc. Keisuke has been a supporter of BICSI Japan's seminar venue for more than five years. In fact, Hirano Tsushin Kizai received a BICSI Japan certificate of appreciation in 2015 for their commitment. Keisuke will be working to develop and coordinate education programs, including webinars, to help drive knowledge of ICT throughout the industry. Tadashi Akiyama, RCDD, of Anixter Japan, has been promoted to the role of Vice Chair for BICSI Japan. Tadashi will replace former Vice Chair Toru Miyamoto, who will step down as volunteer. We are extremely grateful for Toru's service and thank him for all that he accomplished during his time as Vice Chair. A BICSI Japan board member since 2012 and the Vice Chair of the BICSI Japan District since 2018, Toru helped to establish a new generation of BICSI Japan. His many successes include expanding the size of the annual Japan conference, increasing membership, and especially, bringing new technology solutions and IT services to the organization. Toru also managed the new BICSI Japan website, as well as other tasks related to SNS. He has promised to continue working with us as a volunteer. New District Vice Chair Tadashi Akiyama joined the BICSI Japan board in 2017 and took the lead in the coordination of BICSI Japan events and seminars. Thanks to his efforts, BICSI Japan has held more than 25 seminars over a year's time and brought in more than 550 attendees. If you add to that conference attendees, BICSI Japan has seen more than 1,000 participants per year to these events. We thank Tadashi for all he has done for BICSI Japan so far and congratulate him on his new role.
