BICSI engages in credentialing body standards and best practices to create and update the credentialing exams. Practicing ICT professionals are involved in every step of the exam development process with facilitation by a third-party expert testing organization. BICSI's credentialing program could not be successful without an enormous network of committed, talented, and engaged volunteers who give their time, resources, and knowledge to help create relevant credentialing programs that meet the highest of industry standards. RCDD Exam Scrub Members of the Registration & Credentials Supervision Committee (RCSC), the volunteer leaders who guide BICSI's credentials, collaborated with a select group of globally dynamic RCDD subject matter experts (SMEs). Their objective was to conduct an exam scrub, a credentialing best practice activity, for the new V14 Registered Communications Distribution Designer ® (RCDD ® ) exam. Thank You! RCDD V14 Exam Scrub and Standard-Setting Study Teams The exam scrub is conducted by professionals who hold the given credential and would like to provide industry expertise. The team was also joined by a third-party expert in exam development, who offered expertise in facilitating this type of credential best practice activity and who guided the SMEs through the process. This diverse and committed group spent over 18 hours of their volunteer time enhancing the RCDD exam program by reviewing and making recommendations for the exam items. RCDD Standard-Setting Study In July, a Standard-Setting Study was conducted by RCDD SME volunteers in the ICT industry who hold the RCDD credential. They participated in the study and provided industry expertise by validating exam forms in partnership with third-party expert psychometrician professionals. From this, a passing score was established for earning the credential. These are very important credentialing industry best practice activities that yield value to the certifications and to the individuals who earn them. Performing these studies on our credentialing programs ensures that BICSI stays at the forefront of our industry and that our members, credential holders, and other ICT professionals remain relevant and at the top of their respective fields.
