Page 3 Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce September 3, 2020 Dear Chamber Members: August was a month of change for the Chamber. As announced last week, we are in the process of searching for a new President following the recent departure of Carrie Ankrom. Carrie served as President for the past five years, and as an event planner for several years before. We appreciate Carrie's service to the Chamber and the community, and we wish her the best moving forward. The MACC Board of Directors is beginning the search for a new President and CEO. A search committee is being formed. While the search is being conducted, Gary O'Brien, a member of the Board of Directors and owner of two businesses that are Chamber members, has agreed to serve as interim President. Gary is passionate about our business community and we truly appreciate his willingness to volunteer to help. In this time of transition, the Chamber's focus is on you, our members. The Chamber is continuing to promote and support our local economy and small businesses. We will continue to have all scheduled events, such as Safety Council meetings, Coffee Chats, and Boost Your Business events. We have an excellent staff, comprising of Kelsy Eaton and Tayla Kemp, who are always available to help our members with any questions or problems. We also appreciate all of the volunteers that continue to serve the Chamber's mission. A special thanks goes to Laura Miller and the Ambassadors. Their efforts are invaluable to the Chamber and our community. We are excited about the future of the Chamber and all that we can accomplish together.
