Certificate & Degree Programs 2020-2021 FIELD OF INTEREST: BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURIALISM, AND MANAGEMENT CREDIT HOUR PROGRAMS are both theoretical and application in nature. Degrees take approximately two years to complete (based on full-time status); while certificates take less than two years to complete. Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) is recommended for students who wish to gain a depth of technical expertise by completing an occupational program that leads directly into the world of work. Associate in Business Degree (ABUS) is designed for students who plan to transfer to Arizona's public universities into majors that articulate with the Associate in Business General Requirement pathway and for students who plan to complete lower division coursework toward a baccalaureate program at other degree granting institutions. Certificate of Completion (CCL) is a program of study that is recommended for students who wish to gain technical expertise in an occupational program that requires less time and credit hours to complete than an AAS degree. Some CCLs are also included in the AAS degree program of study. Denotes Clock Hour Program CLOCK HOUR PROGRAMS are hands-on, industry-driven, and short-term. Certificate of Competency (CCT) is a program of study that is recommended for students who wish to gain expertise in a targeted area leading directly into the world of work. Such programs are offered for a specific length of time based on the total number of hours needed to complete the program. Note: it is strongly recommended that students meet with an academic advisor to determine the correct coursework to take based on intended major and transfer institution of choice.
