Certificate & Degree Programs 2020-2021 duties and responsibilities related to cardiac monitoring and telemetry. This program introduces students to keyboarding, electronic patient records, record keeping, patient assessment, basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system, cardiac conduction system, 12-lead ECG acquisition and rhythm interpretation, basic life support and advanced cardiac life support skills, telemetry, Holter monitoring, conducting stress tests and artificial pacemaker evaluation. This program also serves as a stackable credential for students who have completed a Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, EMT or CNA program and wish to acquire additional skills that may be suited for positions such as a patient monitor technician, ECG/cardiac technician, telemetry technician, and stress test technician. Program Notes: This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid. The Electrocardiogram (ECG) Technician program tuition and fees includes CPR and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), and the Certified ECG Technician (CET) exam by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Admission Criteria: Health & Safety Documents 1. Current and valid government issued photo identification 2. 18 years of age to enroll 3. High school diploma or GED 4. Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (DPS) 5. Proof of immunizations 6. Healthcare signature form completed by physician 7. MCCCD Supplemental Background Check 8. MCCCD Random Drug Screen showing negative results Reading Course Placement: Students must have multiple measures assessment results or reading course placement test results that qualify students for entry into the following courses OR have completed the following courses with a C or better: 1. Accuplacer Next Generation Reading score of 249 or higher 2. Completion of RDG100 or CRE101 with a grade of C or better Program Prerequisites: None ELECTRONEURODIAGNOSTIC (END) TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE IN ELECTRONEURODIAGNOSTIC (END) TECHNOLOGY (61.5-80.5 CREDITS; CODE 3136) To qualify, students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
