The Morton Grove Park District preschool program, The Grove, provides a nurturing environment which allows the children opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Children learn through play in a variety of activities including art, music, movement, math, science, story time and group discussions. Our quality program and experienced teachers give your child the tools and experiences they need to assure a positive transition from preschool to kindergarten. The Grove preschool program off ers three age group alternatives. 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR Preschool Acorns Age 2 Our Acorns will be held at PVCC located at 6834 Dempster Street. Preschool Sprouts Age 3 Classes will be held at Mansfi eld Park Fieldhouse located at 5830 Church Street in Morton Grove. Preschool Great Oaks Age 4-5 Classes are held at Austin Park Fieldhouse located at 8336 Marmora Avenue, and Oketo Park Fieldhouse located at 8950 Oketo Avenue in Morton Grove. PRESCHOOL PROGRAM AGES 2-5 MORTON GROVE PARK DISTRICT THE GROVE PRESCHOOL Preschool Acorns at Home (Parent Tot) Ages 2 by 9/1/2021 The seeds of learning are planted. Parents and teachers work together to help our little learners absorbs new knowledge. Children are exposed to a group setting that includes free play and circle time activities. Parents are included to help instill a love of learning. Preschool Sprouts Ages 3 by 9/1/2021 Our curious little sprouts will learn so much this year! This year's focus includes working together in a group setting, following directions and socializing with others. Academic areas include: numbers, shapes and colors as well as an introduction to letters and basic phonics. All children entering the sprouts program must be potty trained and able to use the toilet independently. Preschool Great Oaks Ages 4-5 by 9/1/2021 This is the year our little ones grow into children ready for Kindergarten! We've planted the seeds, given them TLC and encouragement and now they have strong roots and a solid foundation as they branch out of our program and into the elementary school system. Academic focus this year includes a variety of kindergarten readiness skills, as well as in depth study of letters, phonics and basic sight words. All children entering the Great Oaks program must be potty trained and able to use the toilet independently. THE GROVE PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS ON MARCH 15. 2020/2021 Preschool has been diff erent to say the least. We implemented social distance rules to keep our students and staff safe. We are very proud to continue to hold this program safely through the pandemic.
