SiG MT 82 Built in 1886 as part of Helena's original townsite, the Parchen Building was once home to a variety of businesses, including a candy shop, a newspaper, an ice cream parlor and a drugstore, and at times contained offices, a small hotel and living spaces, as well. e building was conveyed to Sophia Marino in the 1930s, and operated as the "Marino & Cavallari Italian Grocery" for the next five decades. During that time, Mrs. Marino served meals to local Italian families using booths and tables she set up inside her shop. Many of those booths were situated near the area where On Broadway's two-tiered booths are located today. On Broadway's culinary fare has become a staple of the Queen City of the Rockies' historic downtown area since it opened its doors in February of 1980. e atmosphere of the recently-expanded bar and dining space remains reminiscent of Old-World Italian warmth and simplicity, likely conveying the same welcoming, comfortable ambiance Mrs. Marino began fostering nearly a century ago. As the On Broadway chefs and kitchen staff work their magic in the back, today's patrons can indulge in a seemingly endless array of artfully-craed drinks served up by their skilled bartenders. e bar sits in the heart of the establishment, providing visitors with yet another reason to arrive early and to stay late. Stop in on ursdays to catch the live jazz performances. DISCREET PALATE Get a bird's-eye view of the homey dining room from a top-tier booth. Endless options await you at On Broadway's elegant bar.
