22 I ICT TODAY
Audiovisual (AV) for learning spaces has been evolving, but the COVID-19 crisis has changed and accelerated
this evolution. Hybrid learning spaces and remote learning have taken over the roadmap for intelligent
AV systems at K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. One year into the pandemic, "new normal" is a term
that people are probably tired of hearing. However, it still describes what AV and ICT designers and installers
face when meeting the needs of educators who teach under these difficult conditions that may prevail
for years to come.
Learning spaces require cable and wireless infrastructure to support sound field reinforcement and
connectivity for getting instructors' bring your own device (BYOD) video and audio to classroom screens
and speakers, while simultaneously feeding the content to remote learners.
