Unit accepts 10- to 40-foot-long flexible screws with square, flat, or beveled profiles. During operation, the only moving product-contact part is the inner screw, which self-centers as it rotates, providing ample space between the screw and tube wall to minimize or eliminate grinding. Lower end of the screw requires no bearing, while the upper end is driven beyond the point of discharge, preventing material contact with bearings or seals. Screw's gentle rolling action prevents blend separa- tion, and the fully enclosed, polymer conveyor tube prevents product and plant contamination. Features include a carbon steel floor hopper, a discharge housing, an optional UL-listed start- stop control panel, and a range of flow-aid devices. Feeding lubricant directly to tablet press tools rather than adding it to the formulation during blending can reduce lubricant con- sumption and improve tablet hardness and dissolution. Company's patented SFT load cells and venturi-style dis- persion method provide an automated, nearly constant feedrate, resulting in uniform coating of the tablet tools and reducing sticking.
