Bradley Arrasmith has spent the last 15 years at Novelis Corporation working in different areas
of the plant. He transitioned to a lubrication specialty and is already looking forward to his second
ICML certification.
Q: What other companies
have you worked for and
which positions did you
hold?
A: I worked at GSI (Grain
Specialties Incorporated) as a
CNC Brake operator in the
past.
Q: When did you get your
start in machinery lubrica-
tion and how did it happen?
A: I got my start in lubrication
work 6 years ago. I applied and
earned the position through an
interview and testing process
with Novelis.
Q: What types of training
have you taken to get you to
your current position?
A: I have taken Machinery
Lubrication I and II courses
with Noria to prepare for MLT
I and MLT II certifications.
Q: What professional certi-
fications have you attained?
A: So far, I have gotten my
MLT 1 certification from
ICML.
Q: Are you planning to
obtain additional training or
achieve higher certifications?
If so, why and which ones?
A: Yes, I'm planning to get my
MLT II to help advance my
career and accomplish personal
goals.
Q: What's a normal work
day like for you?
A: Checking and adding
lubricant where needed at all
process centers, cranes and
various areas of the plant. I also
have daily scheduled PMs that
I work through.
Q: What is the amount and
range of equipment that you
help service through lubrica-
tion/oil analysis tasks?
A: I service every piece of
equipment in the plant along
with wells, outside pumps and
cranes. ML
