All Morton Grove Park District lifeguards are certifi ed through Ellis & Associates, a leader in the aquatics industry. In accordance with the Ellis & Associates International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard training program, our guards must complete a minimum of 28 hours of initial training. Due to COVID-19, the pool will operate with new safety modifi cations in alignment with State and local health department guidelines. Social distancing, group capacity limits and sanitizing protocols will be in place. While the importance and value Oriole Pool provides to the community is immeasurable, continuing to ensure the safety and wellbeing of visitors and staff is the highest priority. Guests will need to wear a mask when on the pool deck, entering restrooms or other public buildings, or interacting with others (outside your immediate family) when not in the water. No memberships will be sold this summer. Residents will need to sign up for a "time block" available for reservation. Reservations must be made in advance, there will be no "walk-up" transactions. There will be a capacity limit based on current guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health. ORIOLE POOL 2021 INFO Get ready to join us for summer fun at the pool. We're excited to be opening for the 2021 season. The staff will provide the safest experience possible for all guests; please note there will be some deviation from our traditional services and available amenities this season. These changes include reduced amenity access, no concessions, and a shorter season with adjusted hours. Due to these adjustments and the permitted guest capacity limits, 2021 season memberships will not be sold; we will instead off er daily admissions to reserve your time slot during each of your visits. Advanced reservations are required; reservations will be available online or in-person at the Prairie View Community Center. Morton Grove Park District follows the CDC's guidelines, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the governor's orders. As restrictions are lifted, we will adapt our plan appropriately. This will be a summer at Oriole Pool like we have never seen before. The staff appreciates your patience and understanding while we adjust operations to keep our community safe and active! OPENING DAY: Saturday, June 5 END OF SEASON: Monday, September 6 COVID-19 Procedures The health and safety of our staff and guests remains our top priority. The procedures below will be enforced throughout the season. Everyone will be required to exit the facility at the end of each time block. The aquatic center will be closed for 30 minutes in between each "time block" to sanitize all commonly used areas: bathrooms, showers, locker rooms and deck chairs. Lifejackets will be available at the pool and sanitized between uses. Aquatic staff will be wearing a face covering in the chair and while interacting with patrons. Aquatic program times will be spaced out to reduce the number of people in one area at the same time. Class sizes have been reduced to distance students appropriately during classes and programs. Due to capacity limits, registration will only be open to Morton Grove residents* this summer. Capacity limit will be based on current guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health. *Anyone living within the geographic boundaries of Morton Grove is considered a resident. Students currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th at the following Morton Grove Public Schools will be given the resident fee. Refer to page 54 for listing of schools. The following amenities could be closed the entire summer: diving well, drop slide, lily pads, concessions, and drinking fountains. Park District staff will continue to monitor guidelines and will open these amenities when safe to do so. Morton Grove Park District | 6834 Dempster Street | (847) 965-1200 | mortongroveparks.com 16
