This dated, traditional home was lacking in
function and space. Designed for a growing family,
the existing dark wood cabinets and aging flooring
and fixtures were removed and the space was
transformed into a free-flowing, contemporary
living room, kitchen and dining room. It now
features beautiful white oak wood floors throughout,
black and white cabinetry and stunning quartz
countertops. The addition provides more light due
to the extra windows and a full glass sliding door
for back yard access. The front entry includes new
decking, columns, door and a stunning custom-
built wood rail. The added space is complete with
a huge walk-in pantry/prep kitchen.

Built in the 1800s by a lumber baron, the house
was passed down through many generations and
owned by just four families. Many of the original
architectural elements remained, including plaster
medallions, mantels and pine floors, all of which
required varying degrees of restoration. In addition,
the house had no central air and was in need of
significant updating to make it livable in the 21st
century. A poorly built 1970s addition was removed
from the back, allowing for a modern kitchen and an
upstairs master suite to be added in its place,
hidden from view so as not to disrupt the historic
front elevation.
