It will also air throughout the 2021 Olympic Games on NBC, NBCSN, USA and CNBC, as well as during The Today Show commercial breaks. Be sure to keep an eye out for this commercial while watching your favorite summer games! Capitalizing on concentrated consumer attention In addition to the videos and commercial, U.S. consumers will experience advertising featuring Walsh Jennings while scrolling through social media, visiting popular websites, and listening to the radio. To further reach consumers listening to Olympics commentary and country standings, ABC secured host-read California almond advertisements on ESPN Radio. Similar advertising placements have proven incredibly successful in the past as host-read ads outperform typical radio advertisements in both brand recall and consumer intent to purchase. "We've found that there's added relevancy and engagement when the host of the show reads our ads. They're able to inject their own tone and personal experience, so it often feels less like an advertisement and more like a personal endorsement," said Jeffers. Because the Olympics drive increased viewership and conversation among U.S. consumers, advertising during this event provides a strong opportunity to reach ABC's target consumer audience and increase awareness of California almonds. The Almond Board's integrated 2021 Olympics marketing campaign will drive more than 400 million advertising impressions to U.S. consumers. With California almonds shown as the perfect snack to fuel Olympians, these advertisements aim to get consumers thinking, "If almonds can fuel an Olympian, imagine what they could do for me in my everyday life."
