BY DEBORAH MOSS W hen Jennifer Lynn Bice's parents, Cynthia and Kenneth, moved their family from Los Angeles to Northern California in the early 1960s, 10-year-old Bice traded urban childhood pleasures such as sidewalk roller-skating for the joys and rigors of farm living. Bice's parents wanted to get back to the land, so they purchased an abandoned apple orchard in Sonoma County, where they built a house, planted a garden and raised ducks, chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs and cows.
