e Smeltermen's Day Parade begins at 1 p.m. on
Sunday. Kids who aend the parade will be able to take
home their own silver dollar, just as the smeltermen
intended. Enjoy a live performance by Ian omas and a
rare opportunity to take a bus tour up to the base of the
towering smelter stack aer the parade.
"You can't go stand by it any other time," Teah says.
"People who had lived here their whole lives hadn't been
able to go up there until the tour a couple of years ago, so
people have been really excited to see it that close for the
first time."
Check out the Smeltermen's Day Festivities page on Facebook
to learn more about the weekend event lineup. Vendors interested
in becoming involved can register with the Anaconda Chamber of
Commerce at (406) 563-2400.
