DAY TRIP
Between Red Mountain and Lee Mountain
southwest of Helena rests the narrow
Tenmile Creek Valley, a lush, forested area
that is home to the once-bustling mining
district of Rimini. Originally dubbed "Young
Ireland," the town of Rimini was established
in the wake of a silver lode discovery in 1864
and is among Montana's oldest towns.
In fact, Rimini is said to be the state's
first-ever lead-zinc mining camp.

RIMINI'S NEXT ERA:
The energy of this once-lively mountain town still reverberates through the pines.
