opportunities for new and veteran
artists, as well as other Native American
entrepreneurs.
"It's amazing the work they're able
to do," Noel says of the nonprofit
organization. "They are really making a
difference in providing opportunities
and resources you don't usually see in
Indian Country."
Be sure to stop by at 6 p.m. on Thursday
to catch Montana's Troubadour, Jack
Gladstone, as he puts on a captivating
presentation about the traditions,
culture, and history of the Plains Native
Americans using a mosaic of storytelling,
music, lyric, and spoken word.
The Missouri River Dance Company's
award-winning Native American dancers
and drummers will return this year with
their thunderous, colorful performance
on Saturday night.
The Celebration of Native Plains Artists
instantly became a beloved aspect of
the Great Western Living and Design
Show when it joined the exhibition in
2016. Leah notes that the late Darrell
Norman, who passed away last year,
was essentially the "impetus for the
Native art show in Great Falls."
Norman's prolific artistic ability enabled
him to utilize an array of different media
to create dreamcatchers, dolls, masks,
shields, rattles, and various other works.
An award-winning artist, Norman also
worked as an artistic consultant for the
American Indian Museum in Washington,
D.C., as well as for many film and book
projects involving Blackfeet heritage.
His presence will be deeply missed.
