Zips hold an all-time

in 39 seasons.
Akron advanced to the
MAC Tournament
quarterfinals for the first
time in nine seasons as
the No. 5 seed after it was
picked to finish last in the
2012 MAC Preseason poll
following just one
conference win the year
before.
The Zips exhibited the greatest
single-season turnaround in
the Mid-American Conference and
of any Division I team in the country.
UA posted a 12-win improvement
from 2011 to 2012 (4-25 to 16-13),
marking its best overall record since
2003.
