and Angelina Jogasuria
made up one of 32 doubles
teams selected to complete
in the NCAA Championship
in May. One of 11 automatic
qualifiers in the bracket,
they finished the season
with an 18-1 dual-match
record and a ranking of
No. 43 in the Intercollegiate
Tennis Association (ITA) poll.
Akron faced seven ranked
opponents during its non-conference schedule. The Zips defeated
then 69th-ranked Oregon 4-3 at home
on Feb. 17. The team competed at
No. 4 USC on Jan. 26 in Los Angeles
as part of the prestigious ITA Kick-Off
Weekend.
After being MAC tournament
champion in 2011 and 2012,
the Zips advanced to the event's
semifinal round for the fourthconsecutive season and
closed out the regular season
ranked 8th in the region.
