Zippy, one of the most unique mascots in all of college sports,
is not only a staple of Zips Athletics events but also active
in the community. In fact, Akron's lovable marsupial logged
nearly 500 hours of public appearances in Northeast Ohio
in 2012-13.
Among the many local organizations Zippy, who turned 60
years young in May, visited were: American Red Cross, Clean
Up Akron, Cleveland Sports Awards, Make A Wish Foundation
"Walk 4 Babies", NEOMED and Summit 4 Kids.
