Photo: FEMA/Earl Armstrong Robinson Becomes New FEMA Region 6 Administrator Tony Robinson in March was sworn in as the new FEMA Region 6 Administrator by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate. Robinson fills the position vacated in May 12 by Tony Russell, when Russell was named superintendent of FEMA's Emergency Management Institute. Robinson's duties as regional administrator include working closely with state and local emergency managers to leverage regional and national resources to assist partners as they prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate disasters. FEMA's Region 6 covers five states: Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. "[Robinson] has provided leadership and oversight during more than 50 federally-declared disasters, including hurricanes Andrew, Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav and also the Loma Prieta Earthquake," said Fugate. "As Administrator for Region 6, I have no doubt [he] will build on his exceptional record in service of disaster survivors and the residents of this region in the years to come." "It's such an honor to be able to work at FEMA and collaborate with our Whole Community partners," said Robinson. "We all share the same mission, to ensure disaster survivors have what they need to rebuild or repair their homes, lives and communities." Robinson has been with FEMA since 1987. He previously served as the FEMA Region 6 Deputy Administrator and the FEMA Region 6 Recovery Division Director, where he was responsible for the administration of recovery programs in the five state region. The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) installed its new leadership team in March at its Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The WDMA board of directors elected Mike Salsieder, president and general counsel, Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork, Wausau, WI, as the association's 2013-2014 chair, replacing outgoing Chair Ann Duebner, Eggers Industries, Two Rivers, WI. "These challenging times call forth the strongest, united voice to advocate on behalf of the window, door and skylight ndustry," Salsieder said. "We must prioritize our limited resources to focus on those things that are most critical to our industry and to our Association members." In addition to Salsieder, the other members of the 2013-2014 WDMA Executive Committee are: Vice Chair, Door Division: Steve Donner, Weiland Sliding Doors Windows, Oceanside, CA; Vice Chair, Window Division: Al Babiuk, Loewen Windows, Steinbach, MB, Cacana; Treasurer: Steve Tourek, Marvin Windows Doors, St. Paul, MN; Immediate Past Chair: Ann Duebner, Eggers Industries, Two Rivers, WI; Supplier Representative: Jeff Shilakis, HOPPE North America, Fort Atkinson, WI.
