140 FIELD OF INTEREST: EDUCATION CREDIT HOUR PROGRAMS are both theoretical and application in nature. Degrees take approxi- mately two years to complete (based on full-time status); while certificates take less than two years to complete.  Associate in Arts, Elementary Education Degree (AAEE) is designed for the student who plans to transfer to an Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Multicultural/Multilingual, or Special Edu- cation program at an Arizona public higher education institution and/or who plans to become a classroom instructional aide. Note: it is strongly recommended that students meet with an academic advisor to determine the correct coursework to take based on the intended major and transfer institution of choice.
