This highly-anticipated new show is the brainchild of Russell Skull Society Artist Nancy Cawdrey and her husband, Steve, who teamed up with artists they've known and worked with for decades to establish a star-studded western art extravaganza. The Skull Society and Friends Art Show will feature some of the top artists in the country, making it a must-see event. Some of the artists who will be on hand, such as Cowboy Artist of America Emeritus Member R.S. Riddick, have never attended an art event in Great Falls until now. "He's a premier artist," Steve says, noting that Riddick has also mentored Nancy during her career. "None of the artists in our group do much for shows anymore, and for them to have agreed to come do this with us is a real honor." The Russell Skull Society of Artists was founded by the C.M. Russell Museum in 2013 as a means of formally recognizing living American Western artists whose portrayal of the Old West celebrates the themes and tradition of Charles M. Russell and his contemporaries. Today, the Skull Society is comprised of 23 art masters from a variety of backgrounds and styles, six of whom will be joining up with five more of their highly-accomplished fellow artists to launch the first-ever Skull Society and Friends Art Show. Nancy will be joined by fellow Skull Society artists Jennifer Johnson, Joe Kronenberg, Steve Seltzer, Gary Lynn Roberts, and Chad Poppleton, as well as accomplished artists Skull Society and Friends Art Show A Celebration of Premier Western Artists By Holly Matkin Skull Society and Friends Art Show Schedule Wednesday, August 18 Meet The Artists | 2pm-4pm Thursday, August 19 - Sunday, Aug 22 Show Open | 10am-10pm Montana ExpoPark • 400 3rd Street NW A Brenna Tyler Kimbro, Michael Ome Untiedt, Trey McCarley, Ken Harrison, and R.S. They are all very distinct in their styles." The scope and caliber of the artistry at this show cannot be overstated. "I am very excited about the booth design and the incredible cross-section of work at this show," Steve raves. "I think it will be an eye-popping experience."
