shared adoration for Western history, style and
culture keeps Great Falls locals and visitors from far
and wide coming back to the Electric City each year
to celebrate the city's annual transformation into the
"Western Capitol of the World."
"All the restaurants are full, traffic is packed, bars are
hopping, and there are tons of cowboy hats and Wrangler
jeans," says Chuck Fulcher, who coordinates the Great
Western Living and Design Show and is also a contributing
artist. "You just have to experience it!"
Western Art Week is generally held in March in
tandem with famed cowboy artist C.M. Russell's
birthday on March 19, so being able to hold a Special
Edition Western Art Week in the warm summer days of
August 18-22 is an especially welcomed opportunity
for area artists and their fans.
"People love the history of Charlie Russell, and part
of what he brought to the table was his openness and
willingness to embrace everyone of all backgrounds,"
says Russell Skull Society Artist Nancy Cawdrey. "This is
an event for the whole family."
