The 309-acre Miralon master plan in Palm Springs,
California, was chosen for Master Plan Community
of the Year because of its creative approach to land
reuse. Started more than a decade ago but never
realized, the developer chose to replace a previously
designed golf course with 7,000 California olive trees,
7 miles of trails, and a mix of community gardens,
lakes, and dog parks. The judges appreciated the
whole package, including the community's site plan,
the modern agrihood amenities, and the residential
product offerings. It was truly a fan favorite and
also garnered other Gold Nugget grands in other
categories as well.
