Travel at your own pace along the famed Alaska Highway.
This spectacular, fully paved road was constructed in 1942 to
connect Alaska to the Continental U.S. and Canada. Take your time
and enjoy the sights of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory
before crossing into Interior Alaska.
To get to Alaska you'll have to cross the Canadian border, which
means you have to be ready for international travel. Bring your
passport and get the latest rules at cbp.org.

BY ROAD
Cruises depart April-October from
Seattle or Vancouver and
typically last 7-14 days. Take a
round-trip cruise through the
Inside Passage and back, or take
a cross-gulf cruise to continue
across the Gulf of Alaska and
disembark in Southcentral
Alaska. From there, it's easy to
hop on the train or a bus for
a land-based adventure.
For a more independent
experience, travel on the Alaska
Marine Highway aboard a state
ferry from ports in Bellingham, WA,
or Prince Rupert, BC. Walk on or
bring your car along for the ride.
As the most popular way to visit us, our boat tourism options come in all
ships and sizes. There are quite a few ways to get to Alaska by boat:
