Microsoft Teams Meets Pro AV Example—While the UC platform in this example is Teams, it could just as easily have been Skype, BlueJeans, Zoom, WebEx or other similar unified meeting services. The Microsoft Teams Rooms UC app software and the AV system app that integrates the AV control processor with the UC app both run on Windows PC, Apple macOS or any computer running Linux. To start a session, a user boots the computer, logs-in using username and password, and the user is greeted by a home page on the meeting room touch- screen. In this typical application, there is a room control icon in the lower right corner of the home page. Tapping this icon brings up the general room control page, which is generated by the AV control processor. From the general page, users can navigate to a variety of default or customized pages. The camera page controls a PTZ camera. It has position preset buttons, as well as a joystick wheel. A lighting page, for example, controls the room lights with on-off buttons and dimmer sliders. There are also pages that can control the room's presentation displays (e.g., projector, flat panel display) and window shades. Any custom page can be added (e.g., HVAC temperature control). All the room control pages contain a back button which allows the user to navigate back to the home page. Figure 12 is a functional diagram showing how a professional AV system is integrated with a typical UC platform.
