October/November/December 2021 I 7
Who has not cringed when the
person in a neighboring cubicle,
meeting room seat, or class-
room desk arrives sneezing and
coughing? One cannot help but
think, "Is that person going to
spread it to me?" It is a situation
people grudgingly accept as
unavoidable, until a once in a
lifetime pandemic made every-
one a lot more wary. ICT profes-
sionals cannot force people to
stay home when they are sick.
However, they can prevent the
technology that is installed in
places where people gather from
becoming a vehicle for germs
and pathogens to spread.
Therefore, it is important
to learn how to implement new
audiovisual (AV) automation
technologies and how to refine
existing AV automation capa-
bilities to make meetings more
inviting as businesses and schools
address peoples' heightened
awareness of good health
practices. These technologies
make it possible to schedule
and conduct health-conscious
meetings, collaboration sessions,
and classes easily and safely with
engaging multimedia presen-
tations, while not sacrificing
convenience or functionality.
