Conference highlights will include scientific presentations, a sponsor exhibition, awards and the New Researcher Network Discussion Forum. 10 OCTOBER 2021 Inhalation Awards DDL2021 will include the Pat Burnell Young Investigator Com- petition, in which nalists will present virtual, live, platform pre- sentations and the winner will be named during the conference. e DDL Emerging Scientist Award will also be given to a scientist who has demonstrated signi cant scienti c accomplish- ment or innovation during the early stages of a career in inhala- tion science, within 15 years of achieving a PhD. Live and on-demand presentations is year, the prestigious DDL Annual Lecture will be presented by Dr. Sabine Häussermann. DDL2021 will focus on the fol- lowing themes: • Changing the treatment para- digm in asthma • e inhaled dose—How much goes where? • Lessons learnt from treating C O V I D w i t h t h e r a p e u t i c aerosols • Targeting the brain and the body via the nose Live presentations will be given by invited speakers and live FLASH presentations will be selected from submitted conference papers. In addition, a number of on-demand presentations will be selected from the conference paper submissions. Content will be presented in a single stream, enabling attend- ees to view all of the conference's live content. New Researcher Network Discussion Forum Launched in 2018, the New Researcher Network aims to develop a broad community of early career scientists and facil- itate discussion surrounding research ideas and challenges, joint projects, and personal and professional development. New and early career researchers from academia and industry, as well as PhD students, are encour- aged to participate in the group, which has expanded to include a Linked In networking group. Redesigned to increase its educational content, the Inhalation 1-2-3 e-newsletter provides a supplier's perspective on industry issues, highlights technical articles from the magazine and previews industry conferences.
