By Jack Teitelman veterinarian is not practicing medicine in a traditional medical office, the rules and regulations that normally apply to the four walls of the animal clinic now apply to the veterinarian's principal place of residence. This guidance document addresses issues pertaining to an individual practitioner's use of their home address as a principal place of business or professional practice and the home address becoming controlled premises subject to unannounced inspections and administrative warrants under existing Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations. The DEA knocked on my door at my residence and demanded to see my drug inventory and then I dropped a 50mL bottle of fentanyl right in front of the DEA agent!
