Welding
armen Turnbow remembers,
as a young girl growing up in North
Dakota, watching her farmer-rancher
dad take to his welding, work. "When I was
a kid," Turnbow says, "my dad did a
lot of welding, and I loved to watch him.
He would tell me, "Don't look, it will
hurt your eyes," so I would walk
away and then peek around from
the outside to watch him weld."

Currently working in her
garage, Turnbow would
like to find a larger space
dedicated to welding.
This oversized angel, several
feet in length, required many
hours of cutting, welding,
and polishing.
