United Way C O M M U N I T Y PA R T N E R S P O T L I G H T e United Way's philosophy of "Live United" and Redstone's "People Helping People" go hand in hand when meeting the needs of the community. United Way serves as an avenue of support for communities in the areas of education, financial stability, health, and quality of life. Redstone has been a partner to the United Way of Madison County and the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties for many years. Redstone and its employees have consistently supported the United Way through annual payroll deductions. In 2021, Redstone's employees' pledges totaled $278,756. at's $8,250 more than employees contributed the previous year. For the past three years, Redstone has had the second highest employee contributions for organizations of its size in Madison County. Claudia Bucher, United Way of Madison County's Director of Resource Development, said, "Not having Redstone's support would be catastrophic, and to be able to raise the money they have is phenomenal – it's not just life-changing; it's life-saving." pa r t n e r i n g w i t h In Murfreesboro, Redstone received the Community Impact Award for its work there from the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties in 2018. Terri Bentley, Redstone's Senior Executive Vice President and a member of the United Way board, said she is very proud of the giving nature of Redstone's employees and their ongoing support for United Way and our communities. In addition to donations, Redstone employees also volunteer with many of the United Way partner agencies. Since the start of the pandemic, United Way's 2-1-1 Connects Alabama system for information and referral services has seen calls triple in number, with heart- wrenching crisis intervention requests ranging from suicide counseling to emergency financial assistance, medical needs, senior services, and more, Bucher said. Bucher believes the pride and care that residents take in their community by giving and volunteering are some of the reasons so many companies locate in Madison County.
