Esthetics, wearable and handheld rales, and fine jewelry. Schrupp's artwork
has been showcased in the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the
National Museum of the American Indian, where she was honored with the
NMAI Artist Fellowship in 1999.
A Jay Contway Art Show favorite, Dawn Sievers, studied with Jean Price
at UGF when she realized silk painting allowed her to embrace the vibrant
colors of the Hispanic culture and the traditional Montana themes to create
contemporary pieces.
Con Williams is a true cowboy, having grown up on a cale ranch in British
Columbia and competed in professional rodeo events. He rode saddle broncs,
roped in team and calf roping, and wrestled steers until he turned his focus
to full-time sculpting. Williams supplied rodeo trophy bronzes for six of the
Calgary Stampede events from 2008 to 2018.
A collection of the legendary Jay Contway's bronze sculptures will be
showcased as well, including one of Lynn's favorites, "When the Works All
Done is Fall."
"I remember so well, Jay's inspiration for 'When the Works All Done is
Fall,'" says Lynn. "It was in the late summer; he had closed his own foundry
and was not riding anymore. He talked about the days when he was a young
man, moving fast, riding hard, and sculpting non-stop. He was in the Autumn
of his own life, slowing down and resting more. He used the memories of his
days on horseback to create something he knew other older cowboys would
relate to."
