Featured artists include Ron Ukrainetz, Sharon Foster, Brenda Wolf, S. Carlyle Smith, Mimi Grant, Laurie Stevens, Joe Netherwood, Echo Ukrainetz, and Craig Duff—all well-known Montana artists. "We get to frequently see our in-house artists when they stop by to check on their work and oen exchange paintings. For that reason, our guests get to view new artwork upon each visit," explains Kristie Duff, Arvon Media Director. e Hotel Arvon is located at 116 First Avenue South. All artwork specially featured during Western Art Week will be shown in the lower level Darkhorse Hall and Wine Snug. To access the lower level, enter the hotel's main entrance, where the elevator is located. e Celtic Cowboy Pub opens simultaneously, allowing art enthusiasts to grab a beverage to enjoy while taking in the art. Among the In-house artists are Ron and Echo Ukrainetz, who both live and have their studios in Great Falls. Echo has worked with batiks for twenty-three years and, through experimentation, has learned how to manipulate the wax and dye into intricate, detailed, and award-winning works of art. During the past thirty-seven years, Ron Ukrainetz has become a living master in oils and acrylics on engraved polychromatic Claybord. He uses photographic references and field sketches to depict wildlife, historic Western subject maer, and landscapes on canvas or intricately engraves them onto traditional black Claybord or white Claybord. Using a special technique, he then glazes over his engravings with acrylics. Ron has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction since 1995. Mimi Grant is known for her masterful oils and scratchboard work portraying wildlife in their natural habitat. Her mastery of both mediums is evident in her highly detailed and realistic art, oen mistaken for photographs at a distance. Beginning with the C. M. Russell Art Auction in 1977, Mimi has displayed her art in many different shows.
