By Shannon Ruckman
riends and art enthusiasts will enjoy the bronze sculpture legacy le
by Jay Contway this week in Great Falls.
"Jay isn't here; it is different, but the legacy of his work is here," says Lynn
of her late husband, Jay Contway, who started the art show more than 35
years ago. "Come and see what is available and hear Jay's stories as we
remember them."
e Jay Contway Art Show is featured on the B side of the Four Seasons
Arena of the Montana ExpoPark located at 400 ird Street Northwest in
Great Falls.
"Due to the changes made by the C.M. Russell Museum, we decided it was
time to join the Great Western Show," explains Lynn. "It is this annual gathering
of friends at the Jay Contway Art Show that excited Jay, and it's the unique work
and friendships developed that make this a legacy Jay wanted to continue into
the future. We must adapt."
e Jay Contway Art Show showcases western sculptures, scratchboard art,
knives, paintings, photography, fine jewelry, and silk fabric paintings.
"We have a variety of fine art, not just the traditional art," says Lynn. "We are
excited to bring the work of seven uncommon artists and crasmen for the
public to experience and enjoy."
