18 I ICT TODAY Adoption of public cloud services among enterprise organizations is widespread, but many are now realizing the need to move some workloads and data back to a dedicated private cloud data center located on premises or within a colocation space. This practice, often referred to as cloud repatriation, has most enterprise organizations adopting a hybrid approach where computing, storage, and services are comprised of a combination of public and private clouds. While many enterprise organizations looking to digitally transform have concerns about the ability to support emerging applications within their own infrastructure, the good news is that next-generation speeds up to 400 Gb/s and low-latency computing are feasible for the enterprise data center via familiar standards-based fiber optic structured cabling and high-speed interconnect assemblies. There are, however, some key considerations to ensure the enterprise organization is choosing the right solution for its technology, data center environment, budget, and success.
