• The showpiece of this space is the 300-lb natural
chamcha wood root table that was turned into a
vanity. I located this piece when we were first
breaking ground and had my vendor hang onto it for
two years until we were close enough to determine
where the drain hole needed to be cut. My vendor
offered to cut the hole, since they already had the
machinery – also because the builder didn't want
anything to do with that!
• A white bronze vessel sink by Stone Forest in an
organic shape was mounted atop the wood vanity
base, resembling the rocks and boulders found just
outside the home.
• The entire main wall of the powder bath is mirrored,
not only providing depth to the relatively small space,
but also serving as the bath mirror without causing
further distraction to the beautiful vanity.
• The wall-mounted matte black faucet against the
mirrored wall almost appears as if it's floating above
the sink.
• Staggered pendant lights were mounted off the left
side to clear the main viewing area of the mirror and
balance the asymmetrical cantilevered end of the
vanity base.
• A cashmere finish Kohler toilet was necessary to
blend into the space as much as possible.
• The floor tile resembles old barnwood with a
blackened finish but also features a metallic
embossing that gives it a modern edge.
• The remaining walls and sloped ceiling were covered
in black wallpaper that resembles the shapes in a
topographic map.
• Subtle art was needed to fill the main wall space, and
the elk coming through the fog could not have been
any more perfect to finish off this design.
