15 farm406 innovative tools & equipment Farmmee was created by tech industry veterans and entrepreneurs Molly Woodruff (left), Cindy Rockwell, and Becky McCrea. "We did some market research, and we found that nowadays, farmers don't always know their neighbors," Woodruff says. "So, if they have a piece of equipment that breaks down or they need custom work done, they're not always sure who to call. Even though they might know their name, they might not have their phone number." Once a farmer selects a service, Farmmee finds providers using zip codes and counties as GIS locators, so providers know where a specific job is located. Farmers mark their fields so providers can validate the location and assess their ability to deliver services before giving a quote. Farmers can rate and review providers when jobs are complete. Farmers can also be providers. For example, they can offer their expertise and equipment to plow, plant, harvest, and haul grain to extend an equipment investment. Terms, conditions, and form of payment are negotiated between the farmer and provider. Farmers listing jobs can use the app at no charge. Service providers can list as many services for as low as $19.99 a month.
