BICSI Welcomes George Parnell to New General Counsel Position Joe Sullivan Promoted to CFO/COO Under the guidance of the BICSI Board of Directors and BICSI's strategic plan, BICSI has filled a new position in our association, that of General Counsel. Congratulations to Mr. George Parnell, BICSI's very first in-house General Counsel. With us now for a little over five months, George was chosen for his extensive leadership experience in the legal profession, which covers a diverse array of organizations. George was drawn to the legal profession out of a deep desire to make a difference in the world. In every career choice he has made, the mission or the organization's products have compelled him, and BICSI is no exception. George launched his own legal firm in 2012, successfully supporting various clients, including the United States Professional Tennis Association. In addition to his extensive legal expertise, George successfully honed his skills at negotiating and preparing strategic alliances with organizations across Europe and Asia, including completing acquisitions and alliances in more than 30 countries. It was his vast experiences in law firms, corporations, private equity firms, and nonprofit associations that make George ideally suited for the role of BICSI General Counsel. George's first strategic priority is to help BICSI develop and execute a roadmap for BICSI's affiliate program to further BICSI's mission through industry collaboration, global leadership, public policy engagement, and member value. Nearly six months in, we know we made the right decision hiring George! Betty Eckebrecht, CAE, former Vice President of Administration & CFO, signed her final BICSI check last month following her decision to retire and enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation with her husband, Steve. Betty's retirement signaled the Changing of the Guard, but fortunately, BICSI did not have to look far for an outstanding replacement. Joe Sullivan, the Director of Administration & Finance, was promoted to Chief Finance and Operations Officer (CFO/COO), effective 1 February 2022. "The continuity Joe brings to the position will help us continue to evolve and advance the organization under the guidance of the Board of Directors and BICSI's strategic plan without missing a beat. His extensive knowledge of BICSI and the success he has enjoyed throughout his 16-year career at BICSI will serve the association well," stated Chief Executive Officer John H. Daniels, CNM, FACHE, FHIMSS. Joe's background and experience at BICSI have efficaciously prepared him for assuming the vital role of CFO/COO. In addition to his impressive background in finance and accounting, Joe has served as interim CFO on occasion, led the IT department before BICSI hired an IT director, and has successfully overseen BICSI Cares activities. More recently, Joe oversaw and successfully facilitated BICSI's first global financial audit that consolidated BICSI's financials with those of BICSI Cares and BRCA of Australia. Joe is prepared to help lead BICSI to the next phase of its evolution and we are grateful to have him. Page 7 ORGANIZATION
