A Long-Time BICSI Member's Story "I would like to thank BICSI for the more than 33 years of being a member and RCDD. Sadly, I will not be renewing my membership or RCDD credential as I am now retired. I will miss the members and the conferences. It has been 33 great years since attending my first BICSI conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, and my last in Las Vegas. I am happy to see our organization grow from under 300 members to the global organization it is today. BICSI helped me achieve all my goals as an AT&T BIC and OSP engineer in the design of communication for copper and fiber systems for high- and low-rise buildings. The education and training I received from BICSI helped me become an expert in design of residential and commercial tracts, residential and commercial high- and low-rise buildings, movie studios, hospitals, colleges, and the Los Angeles World Airport. In addition, my RCDD credential allowed me to meet the criteria to work on military, aerospace, and government projects including my work as an AT&T project engineer for the movement of the space shuttle orbiter for the Endeavour shuttle in Los Angeles. In my early years with BICSI I also proctored RCDD exams in the Los Angeles area. In the 44 years that I've spent with AT&T, I am proud that more than 30 of those years were as a BICSI member and RCDD. I will miss the BICSI members, membership, and my RCDD credential which I studied and worked to obtain and maintain through the continuing education of our organization. BICSI courses, conferences, and manuals provided the knowledge which improved my design skills and opened doors in my career. I cannot find the words to express my gratitude to BICSI. Thank you, BICSI Directors, cadre, members, and vendors, for your work and assistance, and for sharing knowledge through conferences.
