Shelter construction, making cordage, water purification, practicing basic food preservation techniques, foraging, and honing navigation skills are just a taste of the variety of activities students can learn during the course. Wilderness first aid certification is also available, and fire-starting training will be provided as long as wilderness conditions permit. Visitors have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and how they can maximize their collaboration skills by taking a personality assessment. Breathwork, meditation, and discovering how the arts can facilitate our knowledge of the environment are also focal points of the workshop. "Everybody thinks that leadership is for corporate execs, meditation is for millennials, breath work is for hipsters, permaculture for homesteaders, and survival for doomsday preppers," Adam says. "Truth is, if you've ever been in a relationship of any kind, had a disturbing thought, resisted an emotion, marveled at nature's splendor, or been inspired by its infinite intelligence...in other words, if you're human... then welcome home," he adds.
