The Craftsman style exterior of this front
porch was brought back to life while reinforcing
the structural elements – all without compromis-
ing the design. Removing the dark, dated and
closed-off screen porch helped create a
welcoming entrance to the client's home.
Uncovering the completely rotted-out deck
framing and decking on day one allowed the
clients to truly customize their porch. Adding a
rich deep-green color to the body of the home
offset the cream white that highlights the trim
detail, and integrating custom trim work with
modern metal accents adds perfect Craftsman
style to the front porch

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
Built in the late 1800s, this New Orleans
home sits on a rare double lot within a
registered National Historic District. The
owners' goal was to add space and update
the house but maintain its historic character.
The side yard allowed for a substantial addition
on the left side and a smaller addition on the
right side. The original architectural elements
remained intact while requiring varying
degrees of restoration including stair parts,
trim and windows. New exterior doors and
windows were milled to match the existing so
that the addition appears seamless with the
original part of this historic house.
